The Williams Residence is an extensive renovation and addition in close proximity to The Cranbrook Academy campus. The existing 1926 home was designed by prominent residential architect Wallace Frost, known for designing over 40 cottage-style homes in Michigan during the early nineteenth century.
The client wanted to keep the original French and English–inspired characteristics of the residence while updating it and transforming the home into a modern dwelling.
A dramatic double-height kitchen, dining, and family room addition, featuring modern finishes and an open ceiling with exposed steel collar ties, complements an addition to the original home.
