Private Residence

Balancing the impact of an ambitious owner’s program, Saroki Architecture organized this home into individual building forms to clearly articulate the exterior’s massing, diminishing the overall scale of the home. Carefully blending design attributes, including elements from the Arts and Crafts, this home also draws inspiration from its site.

Overlooking the rear garden and wetland beyond stands the conservatory, which sits as a distinct glass object on a stone base—its transparency evokes a large and limitless space within.

The position of the individual building forms, along with the scale and texture of the building
materials selected, diminishes the overall size of this significant home, producing an effect where the architecture is comfortable and graceful.
