The new headquarters for Michigan First Credit Union is located on Evergreen Road and the I-696 service drive. The building’s three-story mass is placed along the street corner to promote an urban edge. Parking and drive-thru facilities are located discreetly in the rear; the credit union’s offices are arranged on all three floors plus a basement. The traditional materials of granite, stone, brick, and metal reflect the success and stability of this local financial institution and offer a serene sense of order.
The lobby atrium is developed as a tall glass tower. Its openness promotes a welcoming gesture and allows passersby a view to the changing activities inside. At night it has a luminous presence.
